About US

We are the Hartings! Cody is a career firefighter with the Fort Wayne Fire Department, Stacey owns and operates Stacey Harting Photography, and Elijah just recently graduated kindergarten at Garrett Schools.

As we started to learn about nutrition, we began to understand how important nutrient-dense food was for fighting disease and enjoying good health overall. The modern food system produces a lot of calories but misses the mark on providing real nutrition. This is what led us to establish Grown Well Farms.

Did you know you must eat 21 oranges today to get the same vitamins and minerals from one orange grown in the 1950s? Without healthy soil, the food we eat lacks the nutrients our bodies need to remain at optimal health. The same applies for animals. If animals are eating food lacking nutrients, then their bodies will not be in optimal health. This means their meat will be lacking nutrients, and we will not receive these needed nutrients from their meat. This is why we focus on principles that regenerate the soil. By getting the soil right, growing natural and nutrient-dense pasture, and rotationally grazing our animals, we are able to provide you and your family meat that is higher in vitamins and minerals, full of healthy omega-3 fats, and superior in taste.

Getting the Soil Right and Growing Nutrient-Dense Pasture

We work to establish an ecosystem that simulates nature. Our pastures contain a mix of 15 different species of grasses, legumes, and flowering plants – the way nature intended. This is different from modern-day farms, which typically perform "monocropping” or growing a single crop per field. While monocropping is more efficient, it requires fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides, which actually disrupts the process of creating a healthy soil ecosystem. By growing a diverse species of plants, we can avoid the use of these chemicals on our land, create a healthier soil ecosystem, and generate more nutrient-dense pasture… all leading to healthier animals and more nutritious meat.

Rotationally Grazing Our Animals

We practice rotational grazing, which consists of moving animals regularly across our land and allowing pastures to rest. This not only helps triple our pasture growth, but it naturally helps us deal with parasites. When animals are moved and not returned for an average of 45 days, the parasite cycle is broken. By raising our animals on pasture, many common diseases common to conventional agriculture, are resolved by themselves. All of this allows us to farm naturally as it was intended to be.

Support your local farmers who practice regenerative farming. We believe God has entrusted us to care for our planet. In order to do that, we must leave it better than we found it!
